Well, the LBA’s efforts appear to be paying off. Having played the catalyst role to ensure Aspire gets off to the best possible start the wider community is now rising to the opportunities ahead.
A number of emerging leaders have come forward and are working with their teams to progress a variety of workstreams required to take the project to the next stages. These include Vision and Community Engagement, Strategies & Big Ideas, PR., Communications & Web, Baseline data and Community Groups. These teams have their own autonomy and some already have proposed action plans through to April 2010.
Next steps are likely to involve bringing the teams and the wider group together to agree the direction and structure of the group by building on the work already done to date on establishing:
- Strong leadership
- Rules of Game
- Common Goals
- Action plan
- 100% inclusiveness
- Support risk taking
LINLITHGOW GROUP on LinkedIn Meanwhile the Linlithgow Group on the social networking site LinkedIn has broken the 100 member barrier in a short space of time. There is huge amount of talent and skill within the membership and some are contributing to lively discussions and ideas. Aspires will no doubt be expecting to harness some of this potential and turn it into action soon.
SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS ROLE IN ASPIRES The LBA deserves to be proud of its achievements to date and the role it has played in establishing Linlithgow Aspires. Its work there is almost done though.
So what next?
The LBA needs to know from the members what role you want the association to take on in the Aspires project and welcomes your feedback on the points and questions below.
1. What does success really mean to the LBA members – Health, happiness, wealth, sense of community, sense of wellbeing, etc?
2. How successful can Linlithgow be and how successful do you want your business to be as a result of the overall community’s success?
3. What part will you play in the process?
If not you….then who is going to do it?
A number of LBA members are already active, some leading within Aspires and more will be required if the LBA is to take a lead role in driving the vision for business and commerce forward.
